2. Walk through Site Parameters and enter appropriate informa-
tion.
3. Enter Port Definition and configure the lines as needed.
4. Walk through PBX Parameters and integrate

with the
local PBX.
5. If there are several departments in the particular installation,
define them in Department definition.
6. Set the classes of service according to the customers needs.
7. Open mailboxes.
3.16 CHECKLIST
After completing the installation process, including the PBX section,
use the following check list to verify proper installation:
1. Verify the configuration of the system against what was ordered.
The

maGEN
Monitor shows all active ports.
2. Create a test mailbox.
3. Place a call to
e
maGEN
and initialize the test mailbox.
4. Dial each port individually (override the Hunt group) and test the
following:
a. Record and send a message to the test mailbox.
b. Review the message using all playback controls.
c. Check that each port disconnects properly.
d. Check transfer to operator by pressing 0 for an operator.
5. Verify PBX system forwarding to
e
maGEN
by dialing an exten-
sion that is forwarded to the system.
6. If the system is integrated, verify proper message waiting opera-
tion by sending a message to a subscriber's mailbox with a set
telephone extension.
7. Dial the
e
maGEN
pilot number and be sure the hunt group can
access all the extensions associated with the hunt group.
8. Turn off the power to
e
maGEN
and turn it back on. Be sure
e
maGEN
reboots. Be sure the number of ports is correct. Be
sure the time and date are correct
