NOTE
In order to assure proper functioning of the
Speech Recognition feature, it is recom-
mended that adequate memory be installed
in the
e
maGEN
-PC.
128 MB memory should be added to an
e
maGEN
-PC with an initial memory of 128
MB, for every four additional voice ports
installed in the system -- when upgrading
from the initial four voice ports.
3.4.2 Communication requirements programming
The baud rate for all system elements must be programmed as
9600 bps.
3.5 CRITICAL DISTANCES
The
e
maGEN
-PC can be located up to 50 feet (15 meters) from
the
unit
e
system cabinet.
3.6 REQUIRED CABLES
3.6.1 Data cable(s) from the
e
maGEN
-PC to the OCD card(s)
You must connect the first
e
maGEN
card to the RJ45 connector of
the first OCD card in the
unit
e
system cabinet, as described fully in
Section 3.9.3, below. You may have two or more OCD cards in the
unit
e
system, either because there are four or more
e
maGEN
-PC
cards in the
e
maGEN
system, or you choose to balance system
load. If so, you must connect the last
e
maGEN
-PC card to the sec-
ond OCD card as well.
This connection is made by means of a 3-wire data cable, termi-
nated by:
A 9-pin D-type female connector on the
e
maGEN
-PC com port
end of the cable;
An RJ45 connector on the OCD card end of the cable.
