2.3.3 OCD cards in the system cabinet

maGEN
can be configured with up to 28 voice mail ports, in all
unit
e
systems.
The required audio and data connections are made between
e
ma-
GEN
card(s) in the
e
maGEN
-PC and OCD card(s) in the
unit
e
system cabinet. These connections consist of:
• Data connection: from the
e
maGEN
-PC com port, via a three-
wire cable to the RJ45 connector on the outside end of the first
OCD card holding MIMs. A similar cable must be connected to a
second and third OCD card (if present) each of which contains
an MIM module(s) supporting
e
maGEN
ports.
• Audio connection: from each
e
maGEN
-PC card, via two two-
pair cables to a junction box and the MDF, and via a 25-pair
cable from the MDF to the 25-pair connector on the outside end
of each OCD card.
NOTE
A 16 to 24 port
e
maGEN
configuration
must use two OCD cards.
A 28 port
e
maGEN
configuration must use
three OCD cards.
