Interdigit delay
This field determines the amount of time allowed between DTMF dig-
its. This timer is used when
e
maGEN
is analyzing the incoming
DTMF strings. Once
e
maGEN
sees a period of time between digits
that exceeds this value, it assumes that the PBX has stopped send-
ing digits and will now act upon the DTMF information already re-
ceived for processing the call.
Hunt group support
This field tells
e
maGEN
if the telephone system ports are operating
from a hunt group or are ringing simultaneously on incoming calls.
This distinction is important. If the ports are set up as a hunt group,
e
maGEN
will answer each incoming call as it comes in. If the ports
are NOT set up as a hunt group, but are all ringing at the same time
when the PBX directs an incoming call to
e
maGEN
, the operation is
different.
e
maGEN
will answer the first port that is open and ringing. It then
delays answering all other ringing ports, by the amount of time spec-
ified in this field, so that the PBX will stop the ringing signals for that
particular incoming outside call. After this short delay period, if the
ports all ring again,
e
maGEN
will then repeat this same action. This
call handling sequence prevents the same incoming call from the
PBX to be answered by more than one port.
Enter 0 if PBX/KTS has Hunt Group feature.
9.11.1 DTMF Integration commands
e
maGEN
is capable of acting upon DTMF sequences sent by the
PBX. You may program up to twenty (20) different codes which
e
maGEN
will use to analyze these DTMF sequences and then use
the information to process the call.
Protocol
Enter the DTMF digit string that
e
maGEN
is expected to receive
and act upon. In addition to actual digits, the following special char-
acters may be used as part of the protocol:
Legal values:
1-999 sec
Default:
3 seconds
Action:
enter the required time period.
Legal values:
0-9 sec
Default:
0
