Section 9: PBX
9-15
signaling, gives
e
maGEN
information for processing the call.
For example, a digit string might tell
e
maGEN
that the call is routed
to voice mail from a busy or no answer extension (
e
maGEN
will an-
nounce to the caller that the extension is busy/unanswered and offer
available options). If a DTMF string is not received,
e
maGEN
will
play the normal Welcome message. There are 20 different string en-
try fields for a total of 20 different action options.
Integration type
If you checked Full integration support, above, then in this field select
whether the integration is a DTMF integration (the PBX sends Touch
Tones to
e
maGEN
to indicate the type of the call, e.g. busy, no an-
swer, etc.) or RS232 serial integration, in which case the PBX signals
to
e
maGEN
through the RS232 port. If the RS232 integration is se-
lected, specify further parameters in the PBX --> Serial Integration
screen. For DTMF integration, indicate the sequences in this PBX --
> Integration screen.
First time-out
This field determines how long
e
maGEN
should wait for DTMF sig-
nals to be sent when an incoming call is answered. If no DTMF digits
are received during this time period,
e
maGEN
will proceed to play
the standard opening greeting for the department assigned to the
port.
Maximum protocol length
This field determines the total number of digits that
e
maGEN
will
recognize as a valid DTMF digit string from the PBX.
