Section 9: PBX
9-13
sequence must be repeated before
e
maGEN
decides that the caller
has disconnected.
Max non silence duration
This field determines the time allowed for non-silence (i.e. Noise,
particularly Dial Tone) to appear on the line before
e
maGEN
dis-
connects. This is in order to distinguish between Disconnect and
Speech.
Caller detection
Some PBX systems do not indicate disconnect at all. In case the call-
er has disconnected at the beginning of the call,
e
maGEN
can not
know if there is a disconnect or the caller is not responding (if the call-
er is using pulse). Normally,
e
maGEN
will transfer such a call to the
no DTMF operator, defined in the Department --> Properties --> No
response mailbox field.
To avoid disconnected calls to be received by the operator, the caller
detection feature should be checked, in the PBX --> Parameters -->
Disconnect Detection --> Silence Caller detection field. If this field
is checked,
e
maGEN
will prompt the caller to say yes, in order to
speak to an operator. If there is still no response, the call will be dis-
connected.
Disconnect string
This field determines the tones
e
maGEN
recognizes as the signal
from the PBX to disconnect the current call.
