Installation & Assembly
Guidelines for Heavily Textured Walls and Low-VOC Paint
LOW-VOC PAINT
Low-VOC paints leave a residue on your wall that must be removed prior to installation of
your decal. The residue from the paint will counteract the adhesive on your decal, if not
removed. To remove the residue and prep your wall, soak a lint-free rag in isopropyl
(rubbing) alcohol, and wipe the wall down thoroughly. Let dry for 30 minutes.
TEXTURED WALLS
Our removable wall decals come with a low-tack adhesive to prevent damage to your wall
upon removal. Heavily textured walls (example: popcorn, sand swirl, certain types of
orange peel) often cause adhesion issues. If you have not already tested a sample of our
material on your wall, or sent us a picture to review, please reach out to us for guidance
before attempting to install your full size mural. Lightly textured walls (example: knock-
down, light orange peel) are typically okay, and do not cause adhesion issues. If your walls
are textured to any degree, we recommend heating the decal with a hair dryer shortly after
installation. Work in 1 foot sections, heating the decal and working the material down into
the texture. Heating the material allows it to become more pliable and contour around the
texture for a stronger bond.
TIP: After installation on textured walls, rolling a tennis ball across the surface helps to
push the material further into crevices.
