2.6 Troubleshooting
2.6.1 Troubleshooting Guide
The following is a list of things to look for if the Operator Alarms list (above) does not help solve a printer
problem.
Alarm Description Corrective Action
TAG ALARM Printer has failed to detect the
Top of Form mark.
1. Check for correct PAPER PARAMETER/TOP
OF FORM parameter.
2. Check for correct PAPER PARAMETER/
LENGTH parameter.
3. Check paper rails adjustment.
OUT OF STOCK Printer is detecting an out-of-
stock condition when stock is
present.
1. Run the DIAGNOSTIC/MAINTENANCE/
PRINTER ADJUST PROC. The first step
STOCK OUT CALIBRATION should correct
this problem.
2. Check the DIAGNOSTICS/MAINTENANCE/
SENSOR READINGS. The translucency of the
stock may be too great for the PRINTER
ADJUST PROC. Lower the SPECIAL
PARAMETERS/OOS value manually. Note
that this value is activated during an alarm
clear/init procedure.
OFF CENTER
PRINT
Use the PRINTER PARAMETERS/
HORIZONTAL parameters to adjust to the right or
left.
EARLY OR
LATE PRINT
1. Run the DIAGNOSTICS/MAINTENANCE/
PRINTER ADJUST PROC.
2. Use PRINTER PARAMETERS/VERTICAL
parameter to adjust the print to start later.
3. If the print is starting too early, the PRINTER
ADJUST PROC must be readjusted so that less
of the tag is present.
