2.4.6 Cleaning the Filter
The 8500’s air filter should be cleaned at least once a month to ensure proper printer operation. To clean
the filter, complete the following steps:
13 Stand the print head/paper stock guide rail assembly in a vertical position on its back end and
pour Fedron into the front-end openings of the stock guide rails just behind the platen. Let the
Fedron run down and soak in for a few minutes. Then carefully clean out any jammed paper
stock or remaining paper residue.
14 After the paper stock rails have been cleaned, reinstall all components in the reverse order.
15 Lower the printer’s cover, plug the AC power cord into a power source, and turn on power to
the printer.
16 Reload paper stock.
