VoWLAN Voice over WLAN.
WEP Wired Equivalent Privacy.
Wi-Fi Wireless Fidelity. Has become a name for wireless LAN networks. Originator is Wi-Fi Alli-
ance.
WLAN Wireless Local Area Network. Refers to an IEEE 802.11a, b, g and n network.
WMM Wi-Fi Multimedia. A Wi-Fi Alliance interoperability certification, based on the IEEE 802.11e
standard. Provides basic QoS features to IEEE 802.11 networks.
WPA/WPA2 Wi-Fi Protected Access 2. Security method based on 802.11i standard for wireless networks
(data protection and network access control).
WSG OpenStage WL3 Wireless Service Gateway:
Module that enables wireless services to and from the handsets in a WLAN system. It also
includes the Device Manager.
