cripple critical communications. A low cost solution for protecting and securing your wireless equipment is the WENC-1400. This rugged, weatherproof
NEMA 3R composite enclosure is ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications. The compact size of this enclosure (14" x 10" x 4") makes it ideal for
locations with limited space requirements such as equipment closets or mobile applications. The 10.5" x 9.5" x 4" (266 x 241 x 101 mm) compartment
features a removable power module with two 110VAC outlets. This power module has provisions to install two additional outlets. Cable access to the
inside of the enclosure is via three rubber cable glands located on the bottom. Other Options include heated and/or cooled units, 110VAC, 220VAC, 12VDC

outdoor environment. The built in feed-thru grommet allows you to pass this cable through an enclosure while maintaining a watertight seal. With the UV
protected jacket, outdoor cable runs are protected from damage caused by sunlight exposure. The cable is EIA568B color-coded for compatibility with

Liquid Tight Straight Cable Grommets
These rugged IP 67 rated cable grommets are perfect for use with enclosures and panels where the cables entry point must be sealed from moisture
and dust. Each grommet includes a dome nut and main body housing. A locking nut is sold separately and can be used to secure the grommet to a 3/4"

NEMA/IEC
NEMA, (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) and the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) are two standards groups, which have
devised two rating systems for enclosures, which define the enclosures resistance to dust, moisture, water immersion and ice. The IEC's rating is
referred to as the IP or Ingress Protection rating. The table below outlines NEMA and IEC IP Enclosure ratings

1 General-purpose. Protects against dust, light and indirect splashing but is not dust-tight; IP10
primarily prevents contact with live parts; used indoors and under normal atmospheric conditions.
2 Drip-tight. Similar to Type 1 but with addition of drip shields; used where condensation IP11
may be severe (as in cooling rooms and laundries).
3 and 3S Weather-resistant. Protects against weather hazards such as rain and sleet; used outdoors IP54
on ship docks, in construction work and in tunnels and subways.
3R Intended for outdoor use. Provides a degree of protection against falling rain and ice formation. IP14
Meets rod entry, rain, external icing and rust-resistance design tests.
4 and 4X Watertight (weatherproof). Must exclude at least 65 GPM of water from 1-in. nozzle delivered IP56
from a distance not less than 10 ft for 5 min. Used outdoors on ship docks, in dairies and in breweries.
5 Dust-tight. Provided with gaskets or equivalent to exclude dust; used in steel mills and cement plants. IP52
6 and 6P Submersible. Design depends on specified conditions of pressure and time; submersible in water; IP67
used in quarries, mines and manholes.
7 Hazardous. For indoor use in Class I, Groups A, B, C and D environments as defined in the NEC. —
8 Hazardous. For indoor and outdoor use in locations classified as Class I, Groups A, B, C and D as defined in the NEC. —
9 Hazardous. For indoor and outdoor use in locations classified as Class II, Groups E, F or G as defined in the NEC. —
10 MSHA. Meets the requirements of the Mine Safety and Health Administration, 30 CFR Part 18 (1978). —
11 General-purpose. Protects against the corrosive effects of liquids and gases. —
Meets drip and corrosion-resistance tests.
12 and 12K General-purpose. Intended for indoor use, provides some protection against dust, falling dirt IP52
and dripping noncorrosive liquids. Meets drip, dust and rust resistance tests.
13 General-purpose. Primarily used to provide protection against dust, spraying of water, oil IP54
and noncorrosive coolants. Meets oil exclusion and rust resistance design tests.
