c. Press “Send” soft key to confirm transmitting.
d. You can press left soft button “Stop” to back to previous
menu.
e. If you want to cancel transmitting, you can also press
Home button to directly back to standby mode at any step.
5.2 WRITING A MESSAGE
U3 provides free text messaging so that you can use this feature to communicate irregular
messages or some suddenness with radio group or dispatcher.
5.2.1 To Enter Write A Message Function By Menu
1. In standby mode, press the Menu & OK button to enter main
menu.
2. Use the 4-way Navigator button to move highlight
bar to “Message” function.
3. Press Menu & Enter button to confirm selection and enter next
menu.
4. The highlight bar will stay at “Send can message”.
5. Use the 4-way Navigator button▲▼to move highlight bar to
“Create a new text message” function.
6. Press Menu & Enter button to confirm selection and enter next menu.
5.2.2 How To Send A Free Text Message
1. Write a message
a. Use the alphanumeric keypad to write your message.
You may press “ #” to switch between the language inputs.
b. You can press “ *” to delete the character after the cursor.
c. You can press Back hard button to back to previous
menu.
2. Select recipients
a. Use the 4-way Navigator button ▲▼ to select recipients.
b. You can select many contacts as this message’s
recipients, press left soft button “Mark” to label the
recipients.
