5. MESSAGES
Besides voice communication, for different tasks on your duty, U3 also supports text messaging
using Uni2TDMA. U3 can transmit or receive canned or free text message to meet various
communication requirements.
5.1 SENDING A CANNED MESSAGE
U3 provides canned messaging. You can use this function to quickly answer to routine
feedbacks or to common requests.
5.1.1 To Enter Canned Message Function By Menu
1. In standby mode, press the Menu & Enter button to enter main
menu.
2. Use the 4-way Navigator button to move to
“Message” function.
3. Press Menu & Enter button to confirm the selection and enter
next menu.
4. The highlight bar will stay at “Send canned message”.
Press Menu & Enter button to confirm selection.
5.1.2 How To Send A Canned Message
1. Select a canned message
a. Use the 4-way Navigator button ▲▼ to move highlight bar
to a canned message you would like to send.
b. Press left soft button “Send” to transmit this message.
c. You can press right soft button “Back” to back to previous
menu.
2. Select recipients
a. Use the 4-way Navigator button ▲▼ to select recipients.
b. You can select many contacts as this message’s recipients,
press right soft button “Mark” to label the recipients.
