4. VOICE CALLS
The radio can receive a voice call from others. The radio will inform who’s calling on the display if
pre-programmed. U3 can provide you to receive All Call, Group Call, and private Call after
pre-programmed in the CPS.
Here are call type definition.
1. All Call provides you to talk with everybody in one channel.
2. Group call provides you to talk with a group
3. Private call provides you to talk with one individual.
4.1 MAKING CALLS
4.1.1 To Select A Contact To Call
Your receiver side will determine the call type. You can select a group or person as your
receiver by following:
1. Channel selector knob
You can use the channel selector knob to select a contact if pre-programmed.
2. Use Address book from menu
Your radio provides address book function, please read the following pages to know how
to select a contact from address book.
4.1.2 To Make A Call
1. Make a All Call
a. To transmit a call, please press and hold the PTT button
on the left side of radio.
b. Release PTT button to stop transmitting
2. Make a Group Call or Private Call
a. To transmit a call, please press and hold the PTT button
on the left side of radio
3. Release PTT button to stop transmitting. And the radio will
automatically start a hang timer.
4. During the hang time, you can press and hold PTT button again
to talk back to your receiver.
5. You can also press right soft button “Exit” to exit the call and
back to standby mode.
