3. GETTING STARTED
After you have battery, antenna, and belt clip installed, you are ready to use U3 radio. In this
chapter, we will guide you through the common applied functions and settings.
3.1 TODAY
After turning on the radio, U3 provides you a Today menu which reminds you any unread message
or event.
3.1.1 To Enter Today Function
There are two ways to enter Today function.
1. Press left soft button “Today” in standby mode
In standby mode, you can press left soft button to enter “Today” function.
2. Enter Today function by main menu
a. In standby mode, press the Menu & Enter button to enter
main menu.
b. Use the 4-way Navigator button ◄▲▼► to move
highlight bar to “Today” function.
c. Press Menu & Enter button to confirm selection and enter
next menu
3.1.2 To Read Message From Today Function
1. Once entered Today menu, the highlight bar will stay at notice type.
2. Use the 4-way Navigator button ▲▼ to move to a type to enter. You have the following
menu to select:
a. Unread message
b. Voice memo
3. Press left soft button “open” to enter submenu.
4. Use the 4-way Navigator button ▲▼ to move to a message what you want to read.
5. Press left soft button “Open” to read the content.
6. You can press Back button to back to previous menu.
7. You can also press Home button to directly back to standby mode.
