9. RADIO POSITIONING (GPS)
This enables U3 devices to communicate, track and inform locations to one another. You can
read GPS settings in this chapter.
9.1 GPS LOCATION INFORM
Your radio provides you “GPS Location Inform” function, which will automatically send GPS
location data and other status information (such as: Man down information) to the designated
radio or console in pre-set time interval.
9.1.1 To Enable GPS Location Inform
GPS Location Inform function can be enable by following two ways:
1. Enable GPS Location inform function from Function Status menu.
a. At any display, user can press “Function Status” button at the left side of the radio to
enter “Function status”.
b. Use the 4-way navigation Button ▲▼ to move highlight bar to “GPS Inform”.
c. Use the 4-way navigation Button ▲▼ to enable “GPS Location Inform” function to ON
status, if the current channel supports GPS inform, you can press the right soft button
“Change” to enable this feature, if there’s no “Change” button to press, please switch to
a new channel which supports GPS inform feature.
d. Once GPS inform is enabled, then you’ll see icon
shown on the status bar.
9.2 GPS LOCATION DISPLAY
If GPS Location is enabled from Inform function, your radio will also provide a concentric
position diagram for you to check the relative positions of your members. This will help you to
check which direction is toward your target.
9.2.1 To Enter GPS Location Display
1. Enter Radio Check by main menu
a. In standby mode, press the Menu & Enter button to enter main menu.
b. Use the 4-way Navigator button to move to “GPS Location Display”.
