9. Communication with external data acquisition system
(option)
The UT-3000 is prepared for connecting to an external data acquisition system. In this case the
data acquisition system will be the master and the UT-3000 the slave. The master can send
queries and commands. Results of measurements, calibration, and the set parameters can be read
out, a zero check and a span check will be carried out on demand.
9.1 Parameter settings for remotely triggered zero and span check
In order to prepare the system for a remotely triggered zero check and span check the parameters
shown in the table below have to be set.

9.2 UT- 3000 external data access (version 04.05.2004)
Parameters, status and logger data can be transferred to an external master via the USB/RS232
port.
The UT-3000 software controls this port port regularly and in the case of an inquiry the data are
transmitted immediately.
The actual cycle of the UT-3000 is generally not interrupted during data handling and has
priority.
The actual measurement cycle will be terminated if a span check or zero check command is sent
to the UT-3000.
External transmission and data handling is only possible, when the UT-3000 is in the
automatic measuring mode. Otherwise the USB/RS232-port is not controlled.
RS232 parameter setting: 38 400 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity
All data are ASCII-Characters, between the characters is a semicolon (;)
Telegram for inquiry and transfer (without logger data transfer):
