6.9 Flow Adjustment (for qualified personnel only)
After replacement of components which may influence the flow (GoldTrap, filters, pump) it may
be necessary to readjust the flow. Select from the Service Menu Show Flow (see chapter 5.3).
6.9.1 Heating Flow Adjustment
Read Heating Flow
Select F1- Heating Flow. Allow to stabilize for approximately one minute. The actual flow will
be indicated on the screen and should be between 9.8 l/h and 10.2 l/h. In the right bottom corner
the pump voltage will be displayed. It should be in the range of 6.5 … 10.0 Volts, optimum
7-8 Volts.
Maintenance work on the opened and powered instrument must
only be done by qualified personnel.
Parts of the instrument interior are under high voltage. UV-beams
are produced inside the instrument. If safety regulations are
ignored physical and/or material damages could occur.
Adjust Heating Flow
If adjustment is necessary, open the instrument cover (read warning above !) and adjust by
slowly turning the horizontally positioned setting knob of needle valve 830-08. Turning the knob
to the left will decrease the voltage. Turn until voltage is in the desired range and observe if flow
is in the range of 9.7 … 10.3 l/h.
6.9.2 Sampling Flow Adjustment
Read Sampling Flow:
Select F2- Sampling Flow. Allow to stabilize for approximately one minute. The actual flow will
be indicated on the screen and should be between 39.7 l/h and 40.3 l/h.
Adjust Sampling Flow
If adjustment is necessary, open the instrument cover (read warning above!) and adjust by slowly
turning the vertically positioned setting knob of needle valve 830-06. Turning the knob to the left
will decrease the voltage. Turn until voltage is in the desired range and observe if flow is in the
range of 39.7 … 40.3 l/h.
