6.3 Error messages
6.3.1 Lamp !
The installed electrodeless mercury lamp is monitored permanently. If its performance drops
under a certain limit the warning „LAMP!” indicates that it should be replaced within the next
days.
6.3.2 Sampling Flow out of Range!
This warning appears if the flow during sampling is out of the allowed range (38 – 42 l/h).
Possible reasons:
a) sample gas inlet filter plugged up
b) pump defective
c) needle valve for sample flow adjustment plugged up
Check filters, check if pump operates, re-adjust sampling flow (Chapter 6.9)
6.3.3 Heating Flow out of Range!
This warning appears if the flow during thermal desorption is out of the allowed range (8.5 –
11.5 l/h).
Possible reasons:
a) GoldTrap plugged up
b) pump defective
c) needle valve for heating flow adjustment plugged up
Check filters, check if pump operates, re-adjust heating flow (Chapter 6.9)
6.3.4 Temp. out of range ! See instruction manual!
This warning indicates, that the temperature of the connected calibration device is out of its
specified range.
6.3.5 Check heating coil !
This warning indicates, that the magnetic field sensor for the GoldTrap heating coil control has
detected, that no current is passing the heating coil. Cause may be a burnt coil or a defective
power supply.
6.3.6 T-Sensor not connected ! Connect T-Sensor of Calibration Cell!
This warning indicates, that the PT100 temperature sensor of a manual or automatic calibration
unit is not connected.
