The calibration is carried out by following steps:
a) Make sure a new septum has been inserted in the instrument calibration port.
b) Press F1- Enter pg.
c) Type the mass of mercury [in pico-gram Hg] which is contained in the injected volume
and press ENT.
d) Fill the syringe to be used with calibration gas from the calibration device.
e) Push the capillary of the syringe through the septum of the calibration port on the front
panel of the UT-3000 and inject the calibration gas.
f) Press ENT.
After a pause of 10 seconds the GoldTrap is automatically heated and the
measuring signal is recorded.
g) Repeat step a-d for additional calibration points.
h) Press F1 if no further calibration points should be measured.
Enter the mass of mercury to be injected into the calibration port. Recommended range for
calibration: 10 … 5000 pg for full range measurements or 10 ... 500 pg for low range
measurements.
Inject calibration gas and press ENT.
