Superior Ridge Vents and Super Sot© vents create a perfect Balanced Attic Ventilation system.
BAV allows air to ow through your attic space and back outside eortlessly. Since the ow of
exhaust air is limited to the intake air, proper consideration is needed when planning your BAV
system. Superior Ridge Vents recommends a ventilation system with 50% Super Ridge vents and
50% Super Sot vents.
Superior Ridge Vents vents are bestpositioned at the peak of the roof or along the ridge line.
Super Sot© vents are positioned at the eaves or sots (near the edge of the roof), allowing
outside air to enter the attic. This guarantees a balanced ow of air helping to increase the energy
eciencyof your home and extend the life of your roof.
In the summer, BAV reduces heat build up in the attic which can damage shingles, increase your
air conditioning bill and reduce moisture build up which causes mold and rot. In the wintertime it
helps keep your roof cool and deter ice build up.
Using a combination of dierent types of exhaust vents, like power vents with ridge vents is not
recommended. Competing vents can pull air from each other instead of pulling from the intake
or sot vents.
Using Superior Ridge vents and Sots can help increase the ow of air in your attic creating a
Balanced Ventilation system while creating a more beautiful roof. In comparison, 15 roof louvers or
5 turbine vents would be needed to provide the same amount of ventilation as 42 feet of Super
Ridge ridge vent on the same house.
