Technical information Disclaimer The installation guidelines in this manual serve as recommendations for the fitting of the quarter round. Please note that the manufacturer does not bear responsibility for any product failures or liabilities resulting from installations that contravene the original flooring manufacturer’s installation instructions or warranties. Intended use The quarter round is intended to be used to hide the expansion gap between the wall and the flooring.
Cut the quarter round to size 1. Measure the width of the installation area. 2. Cut the quarter round to the desired length using a fine tooth blade hacksaw. Be carefull when using a sharp tool like a hack saw. Carelessness may cause injury or damage.
Gluing the quarter round to the wall 1. Leave a gap between the wall and the floor as suggested by the manufacturer of the floor. Make sure the gap is a maximum of 0.5 inch [13 mm] wide. max 0.5 inch [13 mm] 4 2. Scuff one of the flat surfaces of the quarter round using a 60 - 120 grit sanding block. 3. Apply a thin bead of clear silicone adhesive to the scuffed surface. NOTICE Before applying the adhesive make sure the surface is free of any dust or debris.
4. Firmly attach the quarter round to the wall. 5. Push weights (like books) against the quarter round until the clear silicone adhesive has cured. NOTICE Check the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions for the recommended curing time. 6. OPTIONAL Nail the quarter round to the wall every 16 inch [400 mm]. Use color matching color fill to hide any holes left by the nails. NOTICE Do not use a nail gun to fasten the nails.
