b) Miscellaneous
Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the
device.
Maintenance, modications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an
expert or at a qualied shop.
If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
Operation
Remove all packaging materials. Ascertain whether the product is damaged.
Make sure that the lamp is switched off.
Plug in the lamp into a suitable wall-mounted socket.
The lamp is now ready for operation.
Switch on the lamp at the ON/OFF switch.
Maintenance and cleaning
a) Replacement of halogen illuminants
Attention! Operating halogen illuminants are extremely hot. In order to avoid burns,
switch off the lamp and leave it to cool off, before replacing illuminants!
Metal surfaces near the lighting unit can be very hot. Do not touch them near the
lamp shade.
Never touch the illuminant bulb with your ngers as fat on the skin may damage
them! Use a clean cloth as an intermediary.
Unplug the lamp from the mains socket.
Unscrew both Phillips head screws in the casing and remove the lamp cover.
Remove the defective illuminant by slightly pulling and wiggling at the same time.
Insert the proper, new illuminant into the bulb holder. Ensure to employ little force in order not
to bend and break wire contacts of the bulb.
Put the cover back on and screw back the lamp’s cover. Plug in the lamp into a suitable
wall-mounted socket.
Illuminants are consumables and are therefore not covered by the warranty!
b) Care
Before cleaning, disconnect the device from the mains power!
Use a soft, lint-free slightly moistened cloth to clean the entire appliance.
Do not use cleaning agents, solvents and the like.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household
waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory
regulations.
You thus full your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.

Intended use
This product has been approved for connection with 230 V/AC, 50 Hz mains power only in
connection with halogen illuminants as specied in the section “Technical Data”. It emits light in
two directions (up/ down). Its operation is permitted only indoors! The device can be used with
wall-mounted sockets. Under usage conditions the incidence of moisture, accumulation of dirt,
and overheating must be avoided. Insert only halogen illuminants of the prescribed type (refer
to section “Technical Data”.) Do not use improper illuminants, and do utilize only components
intended for the purpose by the manufacturer.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you
use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged.
In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, re, electric shock etc.
Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only
together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information
on proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/
guarantee.
a) Persons / Product
The device conforms to protection class I and must be connected to a protective
earth.
Ensure to disconnect the power before assembly of the product, the exchange of
illuminants or maintenance activities.
It is prohibited to wear metallic, or conducting jewelery and the like during
maintenance or repair works.
Do not touch the casing and glass cover of the lamp as it can become extremely
hot.
The minimum distance between illuminant and illuminated surface area has to be
at least 30 cm.
Use only self-shielded halogen illuminants.
The lamp shall not be covered by materials insulating heat.
Do not hang items for the purpose of decoration upon the lamp.
The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become
dangerous playing material for children.
Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, ammable gases, vapours and solvents.
Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if
the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are
connected to the product.
