4. Match edge
indicators for
a perfect fit
5. Fit stones together
for desired patio design
6.
Patio edges can
be left natural or cut
Cutting Tips:
To create a straight line, rough cut with a chisel or for a finer cut, use a circular saw and
masonry blade. To chisel, score each side about ½" deep. Place the patio stone on a flat
surface with the scrap piece hanging over a straight edge and tap the scrap piece gently
with a hammer to remove it. Be sure to wear proper eye protection when splitting or cutting
masonry units.
Mark & Dig. Excavate the installation area to approximately 6 in. larger on
all sides than the actual finished size.
Base & Compact. Install patio base to a compacted finished thickness of
4 in. for patios and walkways.
Base Preparation. Lay a 1 in. outside diameter pipe on base. Spread 1 in.
of sand over compacted base. Level the sand by dragging a 2 in. x 4 in.
board over pipe.
