Lower-tier Cap Intersection
For a more rened look where trim boards
intersect with the 10.1” Round Planter Block,
try out Option 2 as shown to the right. Trace
the notch pattern shown on Page 22 onto a
2x8 piece of lumber and cut with a jigsaw
for a clean, nished look.
OPTION 1: Typical 90° Notch
See trace pattern on Page 21
Additional Information:
For extra reinforcement, smaller boards can be screwed in diagonally o inside corners.
This can provide extra rigidity for projects with longer board lengths.
Base preparation, although not required, is recommended where block are going
to be placed. Grass should be removed and soil tamped to minimize the potential
of settlement and to allow for an easier installation.
The top course of Planter Block units can be flipped upside down
for a dierent finished appearance.
Holes in center of block may not penetrate completely through unit due to small amounts
of concrete buildup. This material should be displaced easily when placing rebar.
Lumber dimensions can and will vary + or - based on the type of wood, processing method,
weather conditions, etc. Slight variations between block and lumber are to be expected.
OPTION 2: Curved Cap Notch
