Installation Guide

Product and installation information on wall panelling made of wood
Use
Exclusively for indoor wall panelling in ventilated areas; not suitable for wet rooms, wet
areas and walls with high temperature fluctuations
The panelling is thermally stable from 41°F - 14°F
Indoor climate changes (such as temperature and/or humidity fluctuations) can cause
the wooden panelling to swell or shrink
Store the panelling in a dry place to avoid dimensional changes and discolouration.
Before installation
In order for the panels to adapt to the room temperature, store open for about 2 days in
the location where they will be installed.
Check panels for dimensional stability and colour variations; wood-typical tolerances and
natural splitting are possible; installed panels are no longer subject to complaints.
Substrate
The substrate must be solid, stable, level, straight, dust-free, dry and free from separating
layers (e.g. wallpaper, paint)
Mineral and organic substrates primed with appropriate bonding agent; please refer to
the manufacturer’s instructions
Cutting
Cut with a fine-toothed saw or a plane; wear safety goggles and a dust mask in the case
of mechanized sawing and planing.
Installation
Mixed installation by taking/applying from different boxes
Bond with a suitable mounting adhesive (solvent-free dispersion adhesive with high initial
adhesion and final strength, which ensures a durable and moisture-resistant adherence)
at ideal temperature 60° F and 70° F; refer to processing instructions of the manufacturer
Apply the mounting adhesive to the underside of the panels in uniform stripes along the
length at a distance from the edge of about 2 cm and then press onto the wall at the
desired location
Apply the panels without joints side-by-side and one above the other (i.e. from bottom to
top); a complete horizontal and vertical joint-free application cannot be guaranteed due
to hand-machined cutting of the wooden strips
Clean off any adhesive residue on the surface immediately with a damp cloth and clean
water
Cleaning/Protecting
Clean with a clean, soft, damp cloth; do not use acidic and chemical cleaners.
The panelling surfaces can be whitewashed, oiled, varnished, painted or stained; before
any follow-up treatment (24 hours after installation at the earliest), we recommend the
advice of a timber expert.
