InstructionGas Level Indicator (GLI)
usable for propane and butane gas
container, re-usable
Art. Nr. 814724
Technical background:
While using a gas container the liquid gas becomes gaseous. This causes a de-
crease of temperature. In the upper part of the container (where the gas is gase-
ous) is a different temperature than in the lower part of the container (where the
gas is liquid) The GLI is able to detect this difference . Which vertical bar row is il-
luminated depends on the surrounding temperature. The GLI works at a surroun-
ding temperature from 0° C up to 50 ° C.
How to use:
The GLI is attached to a magnetic folio, which makes the GLI useful and re-useable
for all gas containers.
While using the gas container for several minutes there will be a difference in tem-
perature between upper and lower part. Put the GLI in the middle of the gas con-
tainer and push it up and down, until you will see one of the bar rows illuminated.
Read the gas level:
Which of the vertical bar rows will be illuminated depends on the surrounding tem-
perature. The gas level is where the vertical bars are changing their color. The lower
the change of color, the emptier is the gas container.
There might be 2 reasons if no change in color is shown. 1: the container is full or
2: the container is empty.
If you are sure, there is gas in the container, move the GLI vertically on the container
until the GLI detects a temperature difference and bars will be illuminated.
If more than one vertical bar rows are illuminated the gas level is indicated by the
most left vertical bar row.
Important:
Not the color but the point where the color changes is important for the gas level.
Maintenance:
Avoid direct sunrays which may shorten lifetime of the GLI. Clean with water and
rinsing agent. Do not use solvents.
