CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR CERAMIC
Please take care when setting items on the ceramic surface.
If placing food or drink on surface, take care as many common foods and drinks contain
acids that will etch or dull the surface. Use a coaster or similar item to protect surface.
Clean ceramic surface with a few drops of mild neutral cleaner, stone soap or mild liquid
dishwashing detergent and warm water. Too much cleaner or soap may leave a film and
cause
streaks. Do not use products that contain lemon, vinegar or other acids on
ceramic. Follow instructions included on any cleaner used.
To remove soap scum, use a non-acidic soap scrum remover or solution of ammonia and
water (about ½ cup ammonia to a gallon of water – or 125 ml ammonia to 4L of water).
Frequent or over-use of an ammonia solution may eventually dull the ceramic surface.
Over time, the surface top may need to have a penetrating sealer appli
ed.
CARE OF INSTRUCTIONS FOR WOOD VANITY
Avoid placing your furniture in direct sunlight, as sunlight causes fading; avoid extreme
changes in temperature by arranging furniture away from radiators, heat and air vents
and air conditioning unit.
Clean up excess water and spills immediately. Use a blotting rather than a wiping action.
Water left over a long period of time will leave white spots in the finish. Alcohol, perfume,
after-shave and
medications may damage the finish.
We recommend dusting your vanity frequently with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
Polishes that contain mild detergents, emulsifiers and mineral oil recommended. The
detergents clean dirt from the furniture, the emulsifiers gives it body to clean and last
longer and the mineral oil is left behind as a barrier for dirt and moisture that could harm
finishes.
Avoid silicone cleaners and waxes. While silicone cleaners create
a high degree of shine,
silicone seeps into even the highest-quality finishes, creating a barrier that will not accept
stain or lacquer. This makes it virtually impossible to re-finish or touch-up your furniture.
Waxes should be avoided because their regular use may result in build-up of wax film on
the surface of the furniture. This build-up could actually attract dirt, smoke and other
pollutants in the air, resulting in smudges and streaks. Also, many w
axes contain grit that
can permanently damage furniture surfaces if used improperly.
