center of the room at the right-
angle marks. Continue this until
all the elds tiles are installed.
Apply adhesive to the other ½ of the room. Finish
making gall perimeter cuts while the adhesive
ashes. Finish the second ½ of the room in
the same fashion (Figures 1 and 2). ALWAYS
DISCARD THE RELEASE PAPER IMMEDIATELT
AFTER REMOVING. THE RELESASE PAPER IS
SLIPPERY AND CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS.

CUTTING THE TILE

Place the tile to be cut
precisely over a tile on the last
row of eld tile. Lay another tile
tight to the wall and over the
previous tile. (Figure 4). Mark
tile with a pencil line drawn
against tile edge touching the wall. Cut along this
line to ensure a tight t. (Figure 4). Always t cut
edge to wall.
FITTING TILE
To t tile around door jambs, pipes or other
protrusions, cut a paper pattern to t, and trace it on
the face of a tile. Cut the tile and try tting it into place
before installing. Immediately after installation, the
tile should be rolled with a 75# or 100# roller in both
directions and diagonally. Clean up wet adhesive
with water, clean up dry adhesive with a mineral
spirit. The use of solvents to remove dried adhesive
may discolor the oor. Therefore, you should rst
test the solvent on either a scrap piece, or in an
inconspicuous area. Always apply with a clean terry
cloth towel and remove any residue with water on a
separate clean terry cloth towel.
1.Sweep or vacuum the oor depending upon trafc
and soiling conditions.
2.Immediately clean up spills.
3.Occasional damp mopping is suggested with
warm water or neutral pH vinyl oor cleaner.
4.The use of detergent or oil-based oor cleaners
is not recommended since they tend to leave a
residue that can attract more dirt.
We do not recommend the use of steam
cleaners on our oors.
5.The use of abrasive cleaners and/or abrasive
pads is not recommended.
6.To avoid possible permanent indentation or
damage, proper oor protection

replacing furniture or appliances.
7.Protect ooring from constant exposure to direct
sunlight.
8.A reduction in gloss may be experienced in time.
To restore shine, use oor polish that does not
contain oil-based ingredients or solvents.
9.Do not use rubber-backed or coco-ber mats on
vinyl ooring since they can discolor the oor.
Winton vinyl tile resilient ooring (“Winton”)
provides a one-year limited warranty against
manufacturing defects if they were installed by
a qualied installation company. Winton vinyl tile
resilient ooring warrants that these products, when
sold as Regular or First Quality residential ooring,
will be free from manufacturing defects for a period
of one year from the date of original Purchase and
Winton vinyl tile resilient ooring will supply new
materials of the same or similar style, size, color,
grade and gauge for repair or replacement of the
defective area and will pay reasonable labor cost
for replacement. Reasonable cost means the
average cost charged by dealers in customer’s
locality to install and / or repair the amount and
type of applicable ooring. Consumer needs to be
able to furnish to Winton vinyl tile resilient ooring a
copy of the original qualied installation company’s
invoice showing that the product was professionally
installed. Furthermore, Winton reserves the right
to inspect any claim. If such material is found to
be defective but was not installed by a qualied
installation company, Winton vinyl tile resilient
ooring will supply material only, but no labor cost.

you may call 1-800-979-7943 (Attention: Claims
Department). Any claim under this warranty must
include a claim form properly lled out and dated
proof of purchase or invoice. This warranty must

which vary from state to state.
Winton limited warranty does not cover:
1.Dissatisfaction due to improper installation or
maintenance of Winton vinyl tile resilient ooring
products. 2. Damages resulting from accidents
or abuse including scratches, cuts, burns, stains,
indentations, improper or insufcient maintenance
and lack of proper oor protectors. 3. Floor products
sold as irregulates or second quality. 4. Damages
or failure of oor to adhere to suboor resulting
from excessive moisture, alkali and/or hydrostatic
pressure. 5. Color variations between samples or
printed illustrations and the actual production runs.
6. Reduction of gloss from use. 7.Cost of installation
or removal for products installed with defects obvious
and visible before the installation. 8.Installation over
Gypcrete or other similar materials that have not
been rst sealed, or installations over new concrete
having PH of 9 or more. 9.Installations over radiant
heated oors. 10. Products used in commercial
installations. 11. Installations in areas where direct
sunlight strikes the oor. 12. Installations over a
sub oor where asphalt or emulsions adhesive was
previously used. 13. Installation of ooring over
particleboard, chipboard, pressboard, or existing
cushion and/or heavily embossed vinyl oors.
14. Installation where material was not installed
with Winton vinyl tile resilient ooring approved
adhesive. 15.Installations where a clear thin
spread or multi-purpose adhesive has been
used. These products are not permissible.
16. The performance or the application of any
embossing leveler that may have been used. 17.
Replacement material or labor cost for product that
has released from the suboor due to ooding or
standing water.
This warranty is made solely to the original purchaser
of Winton vinyl tile resilient ooring products and
is not transferable under any circumstances. This
warranty is expressly in lieu of any other expressed
warranty whether oral or written. No representative,
employee, or agent of Winton vinyl tile resilient
ooring, or any other person, is authorized to assume
for Winton vinyl tile resilient ooring any additional
liability or responsibility in connection with Winton
vinyl tile resilient ooring products. Consequently,
agents, employees, distributors, and dealers of
Winton vinyl tile resilient ooring are not authorized
to make modications to this warranty, or additional
warranties on behalf of Winton vinyl tile resilient
ooring are not authorized to make modications
to this warranty, or additional warranties on behalf
of Winton vinyl tile resilient ooring. Accordingly,
additional statements such as dealer advertising
or presentations, whether oral or written, do not
constitute warranties by Winton vinyl tile resilient
ooring and should not be relied upon. IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OR MERCHANTABLITLY AND
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE
LIMITED TO A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FROM THE
DATE OF PURCHASE. Some states do not allow
limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so
the above imitations may not apply to you. IN ANY
CASE, NEITHER WINTON VINYL TILE RESILIENT
FLOORING NOR SWIFF-TRAIN COMPANY SHALL
BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL,
INDIRECT OR OTHER DAMAGES ARISING
FROM BREACH OF WARRANTY, BREACH OF
CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER LEGAL
THEORY EVEN IF WINTON OR ITS AGENTS
HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBLITY OF
SUCH DAMAGES. Some states do not allow the
exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, so the above limitations or exclusions
may not apply to you.
