Etching:
1. Twist open the battery compartment cover. See Figure 1.
2. Insert 2 AA 1.5v batteries in to the battery compartment. Make sure you insert then in
the correct direction. See Figure 2.
3. Twist the battery compartment cover until it is closed.
See Figure 3.
4. Choose a tag and place it on the work area
that you've covered.
5. Hold the engraver like you hold a regular
writing implement. Press the operating button
with your finger. See Figure 4. The engraver will
begin working. To turn it off, release your finger from the operating button.
6. Lightly press the tip of the engraver on the tag, and slowly
move the tip to create an etching. See Figure 5
. Try to keep
your hand steady; don't press the tip too hard or it will stop
turning.
7. Besides the tags, you can etch on many objects and surfaces.
For example, you can etch on soft metal, wood and plastic. You
can also etch your name on your personal belongings.
IMPORTANT: Never etch on the body.
1. Place the tags you etched on the covered work area. Put
the paint in front of you. We recommend that you open the
lid of a paint container only while using that color, so the paint
doesn't dry. When you finish using one color, close the lid and
then open the lid of the next color you want to use.
2. Using the paintbrush, start painting your design. See
Figure 6. Put a plastic cup of water next to you and rinse
the paintbrush when changing colors. Note: If the color is
a bit dry or thick, you can thin it with a few drops of water.
3. Let the tags dry for at least 2 hours.
4. Thread the tags on the chains and wear the cool tags you've
made.
You can also use the engraver to create other custom made jewelry and decorations.
