Applythesepanelsidingproductsverticallyonwallsandgablesthat
meetrackingrequirements.
• Examinetheframedstructuretodeterminethepositioningofthestuds
(16"o.c.)inrelationtotheexteriorcorners,windowsanddooropen-
ings.Planforareasthatdonotallowinstallationofthefullpanel.
• Fromyourpre-selectedstartingposition,placeapanelsquareonthe
wallwiththebottomedgelevel.Allnailingedgesmustbepositioned
overstuds.Whenpositioningthenextpanel,donotforcethepanel
intoplace.Ifinstallingashiplappanel,placeoverlapedgeontopof
underlap edge prior to nailing.
• Forallshiplap edgepanels,thereshouldbea1/16"gapbetween
theunderlapedgeandthenextpanel.Analignmentridgehelpswith
thisplacement;donotforcetheedgeofthepaneloverthisridge.

unlessabattenstripisusedtocoverit).
• Forallsquare edgepanels,theremustbe3/16"gapatthevertical
joint.Thisgapmustbecaulked;itisrecommendedtocoverthejoint
withawoodbatten(nailed12"o.c.).TruWoodTrimisrecommended
forbattenmaterial.See Fig 2.
• Followfasteningschedulebelow;nailpanels1/2"to5/8"from
verticaledges.
• Atcorners,useTruWoodTrimasshownindiagram.See Fig 3.
Makesureallgapsarecaulked.
• Atbuttjointsaroundwindowsanddoors,a3/16"gapis
requiredandmustbecaulked.
• Athorizontaljointswithstackedpanelsorothertypesof
siding,overlapsiding1"oruseZflashingandfastenasshown.
