Once you have determined your ideal layout, we suggest beginning
by working from the bottom-left of the wall or surface you will be
covering. For these instructions, we will assume you are covering a
wall and will proceed from the bottom left. Apply mastic adhesive
to the wall a couple of rows at a time if you are using it, if not
proceed with nailing the planks to the wall.

Finishing and Corner Treatment
Lap Joint
Cut the planks with square
edges (chop saw) longer
than the length needed
(the thickness of the plank)
for the proud face.

45° Angle Joint
Prior to securing adjoining
planks to the wall when
you reach a corner, make
your 45° angle cut on the
joining end of the plank.
The face of the plank will
be longer than the inside
surface of the plank.
If you are covering a
surface with a corner you
have a choice on how
these two surfaces will
meet:
-45° angle joint
-Lap joint
Staining
We think these are beautiful as-is.
However, you may choose to add
color to the planks either before or
after installation.
Sealing
There is no need to apply sealant to
your planks. This material is at least
100 years old and has withstood
the test of time. Wood needs to
breathe. If you do seal the planks we
suggest a water-based clear matte
polyurethane.
