PERFORMANCE SUMMARY
SM guarantees that within the Continental United States, the hot dipped aluminum-zinc alloy coated Galvalume* sheet steel sold for use as unpainted roofing
panels, supplied to , WILL NOT rupture, fail structurally, or perforate due to exposure to the normal atmospheric corrosion, within a period of 25 years,
effective .
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY to sheets exposed at any time to corrosive or aggressive atmospheric conditions, including but not limited to:
1. Areas subject to salt water marine atmospheres or to constant spraying of either salt or fresh water.
2. Areas subject to fallout or exposure to corrosive chemicals or fumes from sources such as (but not limited to) ash, cement dust or animal waste.
3. Areas subject to water run-off from lead or copper flashings or areas in metallic contact with lead or copper.
4. Conditions/circumstances where corrosive fumes or condensates are generated or released inside the building.
This warranty DOES NOT COVER any aspects of the appearance of the product. Bare Acrylume* and Bare Galvalume* can weather differently or discolor. This
is not a defect in the product. Southeastern Metals recommends the use of a painted product when aesthetics are an important consideration.
FAILED MATERIAL - If the panel finish fails to perform as indicated under the Terms of Performance outlined above, SM shall have no liability with respect
thereto except, as its sole option, to repair, replace, or restore the failed material, which shall be the purchaser’s sole and exclusive remedy. In no event, however,
shall SM’s responsibility extend to any consequential damages and in all cases SM reserves the right to approve and negotiate the contract for such repairing,
replacing, or restoring. The warranty on any repaired, replaced, or restored material supplied hereunder shall be for the then unexpired portion of the warranty
period applicable to the original panel.
PRORATION -During the first year of the warranty period, SM shall pay for 100% of the cost of repair, repainting, or replacement of nonconforming, rupturing,
perforating, or structurally failing panels, or at SM’s sole option, of furnishing FOB Buyer’s plant sufficient sheet product to enable Buyer to fabricate replacement
panels for the nonconforming, rupturing, perforating or structurally failing panels, in accordance with above “FAILED MATERIAL" paragraph of this warranty. SM’s
maximum liability shall not exceed, during the first year, an amount equal to the owner’s original cost of the material. SM's obligation shall decrease by 4% (four)
per year, each year thereafter, such that at year twenty-five SM shall pay for 4% of such cost.
CLAIM - Under the warranty, claims must be made to SM in writing within thirty (30) days after the purchaser becomes aware of the alleged defect. SM must be
given reasonable opportunity (which shall not be more than (30) days from the date of receipt of notification) to inspect the material claimed to be defective prior to
initiation of any repainting, replacing, or restoring, A copy of this document, or proof of purchase, must be presented to SM at time of claim.
SM shall not in any event be liable for the cost of labor expended by others on any nonconforming, rupturing, perforating or structurally failing sheet or for any
special, indirect, or consequential loss of profits or any other incidental, general, special or compensatory damages to anyone by reason of the fact that such
panels shall been nonconforming, rupturing, perforating or structurally failing.
WARRANTY LIMITATIONS - This warranty DOES NOT APPLY in the event of:
A. Degree of bending less than 2T for sheet gauges up to 0.030” and degree bending less than 4T for sheet gauges 0.031” and thicker.
B. Slopes of roof or sections of the roof lower than 3:12, unless noted otherwise in writing by SM.
C. Mechanical, chemical, or other damage sustained during shipment, storage, forming, and fabrication, during or after erection.
D. Forming which incorporates severe reverse bending or which subjects coating to alternate compression and tension.
E. Failure to provide free drainage of water, including internal condensation, from overlaps and all other surfaces of the sheets or panels.
F. Failure to remove debris from overlaps and all other surfaces of the sheets or panels.
G. Damage caused to the metallic coating by improper scouring or cleaning procedures.
H. Deterioration to the panels caused by contact with green or wet lumber or wet storage stain caused by water damage or condensation.
I. Presence of damp insulation or other corrosive materials in contact with or close proximity to the panel.
J. This warranty does not apply in the event of deterioration to the panels caused directly or indirectly by the panel contact with fasteners. Selection of suitable
long lasting fasteners to be used with Galvalume* roofing and siding panels rests solely on the Buyer.
K. Hurricane, tornado, strong gale, hail, lightning, flood or other violent or unusual phenomena of the elements.
L. Fire or other casualties.
M. Settlement, distortions, failure or cracking of the roof deck, walls, or foundations of the building.
N. Traffic on or over the roof.
O. Equipment installations, structural changes, or any other alterations in the roof after installation of the Galvalume* roofing.
P. Impact of foreign objects.
Q. For severe marine applications from one mile to ½ mile of salt water, a 5 year limited warranty would apply, including the limitations
listed above. There is no warranty with in ½ mile of saltwater environment.
THIS WARRANTY SHALL BE SUBJECT to the stipulations, limitations and conditions hereinafter set forth:
1. Buyer shall exercise diligence in inspection of sheets as received from SM so as to mitigate any expenses to SM under this warranty.
2. SM reserves the right to terminate this warranty at any time (except as to orders already accepted) upon the giving of written notice thereof.
3. This warranty is the full and complete agreement of the parties and shall not be modified, altered or extended except in writing and signed by an authorized
agent of SM and the Buyer.
ASSIGNMENT – This warranty shall extend to only as the purchaser of the material and is non-assignable and/or non-transferable.
EXCEPT AS SET FORTH HEREIN, SM MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, LIMETED OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY
IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WITH RESPECT TO THE MATERIAL. In no way shall SM be
responsible for any loss of profit or any other incidental, general, special, compensatory or consequential damages resulting from the failure of the material
covered by this warranty.
The laws of the State of Florida shall govern the rights and duties of the parties under this agreement and jurisdiction and venue

This Warranty is the full and complete agreement of the parties and shall not be modified, altered, or extended except in writing signed by the Vice President or
Chief Financial Officer of Southeastern Metals Manufacturing Company, Inc.
THIS WARRANTY IS NOT VALID IF IT IS NOT SIGNED AND DATED BY THE VICE PRESIDENT OR CHIEF ENGINEERING OFFICER OF SOUTHEASTERN
METALS MANUFACTURING COMPANY, INC., AND THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE BUILDING.
