Installation Guide

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Begin by digging a shallow
trench 6" deep by 15" wide.
Add 2" of crushed stone
and compact to create a
level base. Use sand (do not
exceed 1") as needed to aid
in leveling.
Backfill behind the completed
course, and each additional
course, with granular free
drainage soil. Optional: Fill
unit open cores with free
draining crushed stone
aggregate.
Start at the lowest point of
the wall and place the first
Alameda wall unit (front face
chamfer up as shown), leveling
unit front to back and side to
side both independently and
with the adjacent units.
Stagger the bond from the
previous course as shown.
Pins from the lower course
will secure into the front
pin receiving channel in the
bottom of the unit being
installed. Push the wall unit
forward until the pins contact
the back edge of the front
open core.
Each Alameda wall unit
requires two Keystone
alignment pins. Pins should
fit easily into pin holes and
align parallel with the front
and back of the unit (as shown
in photo). Note: Install pins
before adding soil or stone fill.
Finish the wall with an
Alameda cap* for a
professional look. Depending
on the design of the wall,
cutting of the cap units may
be necessary. Secure the cap
units with concrete adhesive.
* Capping options vary regionally.
