3.2 Cut Quality: The cut quality measurement is the standard deviation of the
cut quality edge data as seen in the Distribution graph (Figure 2f). This data is
the sharp deviations of the edge in inches from the edge of the paper. Often these
sharp deviations are caused by individual paper fibers, which are torn so as to stick
out perpendicular to the sheet edge.

3.3 Hanging Fibers: The number of times the cut quality exceeds the fail
margin. This is reported as hanging fibers/inch to account for the different sized
sheets.
