About Auto ID
(Sending ID)
Auto ID alerts a hearing person that you are using a TTY by
sending several audible tones over the telephone line every few
seconds. Auto ID automatically turns on after you dial a number
and stays on until you start a TTY conversation. Auto ID helps
emergency services, such as 911, detect that you are using a TTY.
You will see SENDING ID on the display every time the EZcom Pro
uses Auto ID.
Auto ID is not the same as Caller ID (a service offered by your
telephone company).
The EZcom Pro comes with Auto ID set to work automatically.
However, you may turn off Auto ID by following these steps.
IMPORTANT! When it is off, Auto ID will not send tones
automatically. Emergency services will not hear the Auto ID tones
that help detect that you are using a TTY.
