uses Turbo Code when you connect with another Turbo Code TTY.
Turbo Code also allows you to use the special “shift” characters on
the top row of your TTY keyboard (example: @ # % ^ & * _ <>).
If your call is connected in Baudot, these characters cannot be
received or printed at the other end of the line. This is yet another
example of why Turbo Code is better for TTY communication than
Baudot—especially in the day of sharing your email address.
Turbo Code indicator
When you see this indicator on the display screen, the EZcom Pro
has connected in Turbo Code.
Turning Turbo Code on or off
The EZcom Pro comes with Turbo Code set to work automatically.
However, you may turn off Turbo Code by doing the following:
1. Press the key to turn on the EZcom Pro.
2. Press the key and then press the key to scroll to
Options.
3. Press the key to select Options.
4. Press the key to scroll to Turbo Code and press the
key to select Turbo Code.
5. Press the key to move the brackets to Off and press the
key to select Off.
You will see TURBO CODE OFF appear on the display screen.
6. Press the key when you are finished.
Note: Repeat these steps to turn on Turbo Code by moving the
brackets to On in step 5 and pressing the key. You will see
TURBO CODE ON appear on the display screen.
