Check to make sure that all the components are present and that nothing
got damaged in shipping. If you encounter a problem, contact your
dealer.
Read this manual thoroughly and follow the installation and operation
procedures carefully to prevent any damage to the unit, and/or any of the
devices connected to it.
Overview
The GammaView Aluminus 2555/4555 takes a giant step forward from
prior KVM switch models by offering DVI functionality, USB 2.0 peripheral
sharing (via a USB hub attached to the USB mouse port), and a rich bass
experience for 2.1 surround systems.
In addition to port selection buttons and hotkeys, the GammaView
Aluminus 2555/4555 models offer the latest mouse port-switching
functionality – simply double-click on a USB mouse’s scroll wheel to
change computer focus.
Furthermore, the GammaView Aluminus 2555/4555 features enhanced
video synchronization technology which eliminates boot-up display
problems and optimizes resolution when switching between ports.
Finally, the GammaView Aluminus 2555/4555’s new power on detection
feature means that if one of the computers is powered off, the KVM
switch will automatically change focus to the other powered computer.
Featuring an unbeatable combination of DVI, USB 2.0, audio and
enhanced user-friendly operations, the GammaView Aluminus 2555/4555
allow users to keep up with the latest innovations in desktop multimedia
applications.

System Requirements
Console
• A DVI monitor capable of the highest resolution that you will be using
on any computer in the installation
• A USB keyboard and mouse
• Speakers (optional)
Computers
The following equipment must be installed on each computer that is to be
connected to the system:
• A DVI video port
• Two USB type A ports
• A speaker port (optional)
Cables
Only cable sets specifically designed to work with this switch may be
used.
• The GammaView Aluminus 2555 package provides one KVM cable set
(4 ft.) for up to two computers
• The GammaView Aluminus 4555 package provides two KVM cable sets
(4 ft. and 6 ft.) for up to four computers

Installation
1. Plug your keyboard and mouse into the USB ports, located on the side
of the GammaView. The ports are labeled with appropriate icons.
2. Plug your monitor into the DVI port, located on the back of the
GammaView. Power on the monitor.
3. Plug your speakers into the audio port located on the side of the
GammaView (Optional).
4. Plug the KVM cable set into the KVM port on the GammaView and
plug in the USB, video, and audio connectors of the KVM cable set to
their respective ports on the computers you are installing.
5. For the GammaView Aluminus 4555, plug in the power adapter cable
to the power jack located on the back of the unit. Power on the power
adapter.
6. Power on the computers.
Note: By default the switch links to the first computer that is powered on.

Operation
The GammaView Aluminus 2555/4555 provide three convenient methods
of selecting computers: Manual – by clicking the appropriate button on the
front of the unit; Mouse – by using the mouse’s scroll wheel; and Hotkey –
where you can enter keyboard combinations.
Manual Port Selection
Press the port selection button on the front of the unit to switch the focus
between the computers. The LED illuminates to indicate which computer
attached to its corresponding port has the focus.
Hotkey Port Selection
All hotkey operations begin by tapping the Scroll Lock key twice. See the
Hotkey Summary Table for full details.
Note: If using [Scroll Lock] conflicts with other programs, [Ctrl] can be
used instead.
Alternate Entering Hotkey Mode
• Press [Scroll Lock] [Scroll Lock] [x] [Enter]. The entering hotkey mode
hotkey is now [Ctrl].
Note: These procedures toggle between the two methods.

Mouse Port Selection
Simply double-click the scroll wheel on your mouse to switch between
ports.
Note: 1. This feature is only supported by USB 3-button scroll wheel
mice.
2. The default setting is OFF.
3. This feature is only supported when mouse emulation is also
enabled.

USB 2.0 Peripheral Sharing
The mouse port can accept any USB compatible peripheral. You can
connect a USB hub (may require an extra power adapter) to install
multiple USB devices.
Note: 1. The default setting is OFF.
2. Activate this function by disabling mouse emulation function.

3. Do not switch ports while a USB device is in operation.
Keyboard Emulation
Note: When using key combinations, press and release the first key (Ctrl),
then press and release the activation key.

1 Port Selection Buttons
Press these buttons to change focus to the
computer connected to the corresponding
ports.
2 Port LEDs
The Port LEDs indicate status. The LED
turns on to indicate computer focus. The
LED flashes to indicate that the computer
attached to its corresponding port is being
scanned by the Auto Scan feature. The LED
is off to indicate the port is not selected.
3 Console Audio Port Your consoles’ speakers plug in here.

KVM Ports

The KVM cables that connect the unit to the
keyboard, mouse, video, and speaker ports
on the computers you are installing can plug
into any available port.

1. Make sure that the power to any device that you
connect to the installation has been turned off. You
must unplug the power cords of any computers that
have the Keyboard Power On function.
2. Make sure that all devices you will be installing are
properly grounded.

the port corresponding to the specified Port ID.
The [n] stands for the computer’s Port ID number.

Toggles the hotkey invocation key between [Scroll Lock]
