Adjusting the width:
First, put handle in the “open” position and pull the unit apart (wider). The threaded rod will
expose more threads below the nut. Turning the nut counter-clockwise, (loosening) makes the
unit wider when in “closed” or operational position. Continue making adjustments until the
chock/lock makes light contact (not tight) between the two wheels with the handle in the “open”
position with the nut on the threaded rod snug to the chock/lock.
Once the adjusted chock/lock fits snug into the tandem wheels, then move the handle to the
“closed” position to lock wheels in place. (You may need to re-adjust width at this point)
Be careful not to make the chock/lock too tight against the wheels when in the “closed” position.
When the unit is properly adjusted, no further adjustments are needed for each use. The
chock/lock will now close tightly against each wheel, operating the same each time by only
moving the handle up and down. (See Figure 1 and Figure 2 above)
Reminder: A padlock can be used to prevent theft and removal of the lock/chock.
MAINTENANCE
Maintain your tandem wheel chock/lock. It is recommended that the general condition of any
tandem wheel chock/lock be examined before it is used. Keep your tandem wheel chock/lock in
good repair by adopting a program of conscientious repair and maintenance. If any parts or
hardware operate or appear abnormal, replace parts or have any problem corrected before
further use. Any necessary repairs must be made by qualified service personnel.
Minimal lubrication of all the joints periodically will keep all movements fluid.
