HUB BEARING MAINTENANCE
WARNING: If the following procedure is not followed, it may result in wheel locking and tire blowout, causing an
automobile accident or road hazard.
1. Whenever a Hub (A10) on a new unit requires assembly (or a Hub is disassembled for maintenance), the following procedures
MUST be followed.
2. Using a suitable solvent, thoroughly clean the Bearings (B3), Dust Cap (B6), and the rest of the parts of the Hub assembly of all
grease, dirt, metal shavings, or any other foreign objects. The parts must be cleaned even if they are new or clean.
3. Allow all parts to dry completely.
4. Clean your hands and the bearing packer (not included).
5. Place fresh, clean bearing grease in the bearing packer.
6. With the grease-filled bearing packer in one hand and the Bearing (B3) in the other, press the Bearing into the grease, forcing
the grease inside the slots in the Bearing. Continue doing this until every slot in the Bearing is completely full of grease.
7. As you finish assembling the Hub, be careful not to get any dirt or debris on any part of the assembly.
8. Replace the Dust Cap (B6) over each Bearing (B3).
