Product Manual

WARNING: Consult the operator’s manual of the towing vehicle for proper connection specifications and instructions. Do
not use the Car Dolly if the wiring system is not operating properly.
CAUTION! Be cautious when backing up with the Car Dolly.
6. When towing long distances, stop and check the tightness of all connections, lug nuts, side running lights and tail lights every
100 miles.
7. Carry emergency flares, and a fire extinguisher where required.
8. When using the Car Dolly at night, having extra bulbs and fuses is recommended.
LOADING A VEHICLE ONTO THE CAR DOLLY
1. Use a responsible adult as a helper.
2. Hitch the Car Dolly to your tow vehicle. Turn off the engine of your tow vehicle and exit. Block the Wheels (A11) of the Car Dolly
(front and back of both tires).
3. To rest the Loading Ramps (A4) on the ground, remove the R-Clip (B1) from the Safety Pin (A12). Then loosen the threaded
lever on top of the Collar Bracket (A9) while holding the Frame (A3) with downward force. Slide the Collar Bracket (A9) forward
on the Tow Bar (A2), allowing the Frame (A3) to rise upward.
4. Using a helper, center the vehicle’s tires in front of the Loading Ramps (A4). Very slowly drive up the Loading Ramps (A4) and
into the Wheel Wells of the Top Panel (A5). When the vehicle is fully loaded, the Frame (A3) will drop onto the Tow Bar (A2).
WARNING: Keep everyone clear of the lowering action of the Frame (A3) on to the Tow Bar (A2). This happens quickly
and could cause severe injury to anyone standing too close. Do not have hands on the Frame as it is lowering. Place the
loaded vehicle in neutral and DO NOT exit the vehicle until it is secured to Car Dolly.
5. Slide the Collar Bracket (A9) forward onto the Frame (A3) and tighten the Threaded Lever into the Frame (A3). Push the Safety
Pin (A12) through the Frame (A3) and Tow Bar (A2) and lock it in place with the R-Clip (B1).
6. Place the Wheel Bonnet Tie Down (not included) over the wheel of the vehicle being towed.
WARNING: This nylon harness should be checked for security before you begin a trip and every 25 miles thereafter. Also
check frequently for fraying or any other damage. If damaged, replace the nylon harness. DO NOT REPAIR, ALWAYS
REPLACE.
7. Remove the blocks from both sides of the Car Dolly wheels.
UNLOADING A VEHICLE FROM THE CAR DOLLY
1. Use a responsible adult as a helper.
2. Block the wheels (front and back of each tire) on the Car Dolly. Turn off the engine of the tow vehicle.
3. Remove the nylon harness (not included) from each of the front tires of the loaded vehicle.
WARNING: DO NOT leave the nylon harness (not included) lying on the Car Dolly while you are loading or unloading a
vehicle.
4. Enter the vehicle to be unloaded and place your foot on the brake pedal and hold it there. Set the parking brake, take your foot
off the brake pedal and start the engine. Place your foot back on the brake pedal.
5. Remove the R-Clip (B1) and the Safety Pin (A12) from the Tow Bar (A2) and Frame (A3). Loosen the Threaded Lever on top of
the Collar Bracket (A9) and slide it forward on the Tow Bar (A2) toward the tow vehicle. After this, stand clear of the Car Dolly,
the tow vehicle, and the vehicle being removed from the Dolly. Stand where you can be seen clearly by the driver of the vehicle.
6. With your foot on the brake pedal release the parking brake. Place the loaded vehicle in reverse and slowly ease the vehicle
back off the tow dolly. Moving slowly will keep the Frame (A3) from rising too quickly away from the Tow Bar (A2) and will keep
the Loading Ramps (A4) from hitting the ground hard, possibly causing damage.
7. Once clear, back the vehicle a safe distance from the Dolly.
8. Keeping both hands on the top of the Frame (A3), carefully lower the Frame (A3) back to the Tow Bar (A2). Slide the Collar
Bracket (36) over the Frame (A3) and tighten the Threaded Lever on top of the Collar Bracket (A9) until it is snug. Reinsert the
Safety Pin (A12) and the R-Clip (B1).
