Maintain an adequate vertical down (tongue) load to maintain control of the trailer (generally 10%)
without exceeding the specified rated capacities.
Other steps and inspections are also required. Consult OSHA, D.O.T. regulations, and the
American Trucking Association for complete coupling and uncoupling procedures.
Towing
⚠WARNING
Trailers and equipment designed for on-road towing within the stated capacities. For off-road
applications, reduce the capacities listed above by 25%, and use in conjunction with a swivel-type
drawbar. This lunette ring is well suited for use in the utility and construction industries.
Mounting
⚠WARNING
All welding must be performed by an AWS certified welder.
The bracket needs to be welded to a structure of sufficient strength to support the rated capacity
of the hitch in accordance with SAE J 849B.
The bracket hole pattern is noted in the specifications table.
Use (3) 5/8'' grade 8 fasteners, properly tightened (not included).
The recommended minimum torque is 120 ft./lbs., per SAE J429.
Before Each Use
⚠WARNING
Inspect for proper operation.
Inspect the coupling area. Replace when the wear exceeds 1/8'' (.125'') from the original surface
profile.
Inspect for worn, damaged, and missing parts. Replace as required.
Operating Instructions
