Hitching Up
Make sure all bystanders are in sight before backing up the vehicle to hook-up.
1. Before operating, inspect for proper operation, worn, damaged, or missing parts, and secure the
mounting. Correct as required before use.
2. Unlock by removing the safety pin.
3. Back the vehicle up until the pintle captures the pintle hook. Then, lower it into place.
4. To lock, insert the safety pin.
Un-Hitching
1. Unlock by removing the safety pin.
2. Flip the locking plate until it is pointing downward.
3. Jack up the trailer hitch until it clears the pintle hook. As you drive away, the locking plate will
reset for the next hook-up.
Maintenance
For proper performance, the following should be performed every 10,000 miles or 6 months,
whichever comes first.
Maintain the product by adopting a program of conscientious repair and maintenance in accordance
with the following recommended procedures. It is recommended that the general condition of any tool
be examined before it is used. Keep your tool in good repair. Keep all cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to
control. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Also refer to the engine manufacturer’s
instruction manual for additional information about engine maintenance. The following chart is based
on a normal operation schedule.

Maintenance Point
The following should be performed
every 10,000 miles or 6 months:
1. Inspect for proper operation.
2. Inspect, in particular, the coupling area. Replace when the
wear exceeds 1/8" from the original surface profile.
3. Inspect for worn, damaged, and missing parts. Replace as
required.
4. Always use a safety clip.
5. Check the ball’s torque specification after the first 200
miles of towing and every 400 miles after that.
