Intended Use This 7 ton capacity Auto-Locking Dual-Purpose Pintle Hitch features a single-piece, cast ductile iron with an upper steel lock that is designed with an integral shank to fit directly into a 2" receiver hitch. No adapter is needed. The hitch can be used with a ball coupler or tow ring with a 2" to 3" I.D. drawbar eye ring with a 1-1/4" to 1-5/8" diameter cross section. Before Each Use 1. Inspect the unit for proper operation. 2. Inspect, in particular, the coupling area. Replace when the wear exceeds 1/8" (.125") from the original surface profile. 3. Inspect for worn, damaged and missing parts. Replace as required. Operating Instructions ⚠WARNING It is the user’s responsibility to be sure the receiver is capable of 2,800 lbs. vertical load and 14,000 lbs. gross trailer weight.
2. Unlock by removing the safety pin. 3. Back the vehicle up until the pintle cup captures the hitch ring. 4. Lower the hitch ring into place. 5. To lock, insert the safety pin. 6. Slide the safety chain onto the chain hooks after the safety chain is hooked to the vehicle. Un-Hitching 1. Unlock by removing the safety pin. 2. Unhook the safety chain. 3. Flip the locking plate forward until it touches the hitch ball. 4. Jack up the trailer hitch until it clears the hitch ball and resets for the next hook-up.
Un-Hitching 1. Remove the safety pin from the ball coupler. 2. Unhook the safety chain. 3. Unlock the ball coupler. 4. Jack up the trailer hitch until it clears the ball. Maintenance For proper performance, the following should be performed every 10,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. Maintain the product by adopting a program of conscientious repair and maintenance in accordance with the following recommended procedures.
