Modem
If you are using an external modem, you should see the name of the external modem
appearing in the Modem Settings windows. You must have the external modem
♦ Powered on.
♦ Connected to the computer via a serial cable.
♦ Must have been recognized by Windows when you power the computer on.
Whether you have an internal modem built into your computer or an external modem
attached to the computer, the process of choosing the modem is the same. You need to select
both the caption device (encoder) and the modem.
♦ First choose the caption device (encoder) as described above.
