Levels too high Was the necessary rest observed before measurement? Repeat measurement after a break of
approx. 3 min.
Do not move your arm and do not
talk.
Was the correct cuff size selected? Cuffs which are too small lead to
excessively high blood pressure
readings. Measure your arm
circumference at the middle of the
upper arm.
Levels too low Upper arm cuff too large. Use a standard cuff.
Check arm circumference.
Unusual levels Incorrect cuff size.
Movement or talking during measurement.
Resting time not observed.
Check conditions and repeat
measurement.
