PRESET THE FOLLOWI NG SWI TCHES:
( A10) ALC/ AGC Board
S1 t o ALC Manual
S2 t o AGC Manual
( A11) Linearity Corrector Board
S1 t o Off
( A10) ALC/ AGC BOARD ( 1067- 1116)
The I nput I F signal is cabled t o ( J1) I F input of t he ALC/ AGC Board.
1. Rem ove t he J1 plug from the board, observe t hat DS2, I nput Fault , light s. Reconnect J1
and observe DS2 extinguished.
2. Check t hat S1 is in Manual. Monitor the out put at J2 wit h a Spect rum Analyzer and adjust
R17 for 0 dBm level.
3. I nsert a NTSC m ult iburst video test signal t o t he Modulator Tray and t une C2 for a flat
frequency response ± .5 dB. Reconnect J2. Jack ( J2) of the board is cabled t o the J1 I nput
Jack of the Linearit y Corrector Board.
( A11) LI NEARI TY CORRECTOR BOARD (1161-1116)
Check t hat the linearit y pre- correct ion ( S1) is swit ched Out .
1. Monitor the Output Connect or (J2) of t he Linearity Correct or Board and verify an I F out put
of approxim at ely 0 dBm level.
No ot her adj ust m ents are necessary to the linearit y correct or at t his point of the procedure. The
I F output of t he Linearit y Correct or Board is fed back t o t he ALC/ AGC Board at connect or ( J3) .
( A10) ALC/ AGC BOARD ( 1067- 1116)
1. Switch S1 on t he ALC/ AGC Board to ALC Auto. This com plet es the ALC loop.
2. The init ial ALC I F adj ust m ent consist s of presett ing the Front Panel Pow er Control Pot (R2)
to Mid- Range and adj ust ing t he ALC reference pot ( R47) t o obt ain a detect ed I F out put
level of + 2 VDC at TP3 of the ALC/ AGC Board. Swit ch the Operat e/ St andby Switch to the
Operate posit ion.
3. Rem ove t he I F output plug (J4) from t he ALC/ AGC Board, and m onit or t he out put from J4
wit h a Spect rum Analyzer. Adj ust R101 for ( - 3 dBm pk Visual and - 13 dBm Aural).
4. I nsert a NTSC m ult iburst video signal t o t he I nput of t he Modulator or t o t he Receiver Tray
and t une C33 for a flat frequency response ± .5 dB. Reconnect J4.
The out put from J4 is cabled t o J2 t he I F input of ( A16) the Mixer/ Am plifier Enclosure
Assem bly which connects t o J7 of (A16- A1) the Filt er/ Mixer Board.
