The AC input t o the Tray is 117 VAC or 230 VAC and is direct ed thru Jack J2, of the ( A1) Power
Ent ry Module (1265- 1104) , t o the st ep down Toroid (A2) . The Power Entry Module cont ains an
On/ Off Switch, a 4 Am p Slo-Blo Fuse and t hree MOVs which prot ect t he Tray from transients or
surges which m ay occur on the AC I nput Lines. When the On/ Off Switch is switched On, AC is
applied to the ( A2) Toroid. The Toroid st eps down the volt age into t wo 16 VAC out puts which are
fed to ( A3) t he + 12V( 3A) / - 12V Power Supply Board ( 1092- 1206) . The 16 VAC I nput s are
connect ed t o t he t wo full w ave bridge net works one for + 12 VDC and one for -12 VDC. The
output of t he + 12 VDC rect ifier is fed to t hree 7812 I C regulators (U1, U2 and U3) and the out put
of t he - 12 VDC rect ifier is fed t o one 7912 I C regulat or (U4). The ± 12V Pow er Supply Board
provides t he volt age regulat ed and current lim ited + 12 VDC and - 12 VDC t o t he rest of the boards
in t he Tray.
+ 12VDC for Ext ernal Pream plifier
+ 12 VDC is also applied t hrough a 1 Am p Fuse F1 t o ( A7) the input DC Mult iplexed UHF or VHF
Filt er. The + 12 VDC is m ult iplexed in the Filter onto t he input coaxial cable t hat connect s from t he
( Opt ional) Rem ot e Pream plifier Unit t o the Receiver Tray. This supplies the Pream plifier wit h the
+ 12 VDC needed for operation. The Red LED DS1 m ounted on t he Term inal Block TB1 will be lit if
the + 12 VDC is applied t o t he coaxial cable. N ot e: I f the Red LED, DS1, is lit, t he + 12 VDC m ay
dam age Test Equipm ent t hat is connect ed to t he input of the Receiver Tray. I f a Pream plifier
Assem bly is not part of your Syst em , F1 should be rem oved, therefore DS1 should not be lit and
the + 12 VDC is not m ultiplexed onto the input coaxial cable. A spare Fuse for F1 is supplied and
st ored near t he fuse holder for F1.
