Service manual
5. Low Ice Production
Cause Remedy
■ High ambient temperatures around unit ■ Lower ice rate is normal with high
ambient temperatures
■ Deposit build-up on evaporator grid ■ Run the unit through a clean cycle. Use
only U-Line Ice Machine Cleaner
■ Ice thickness dial set incorrectly ■ Adjust ice thickness dial accordingly
■ Dirty condenser coil ■ Clean condenser coil
NOTE: Light on control board will indicate if condenser is too dirty. A rapid flash of light
indicates high heat conditions which could be caused by either an inadequate air flow or
a dirty condenser.
6. Will Not Eject Ice (Water Frozen)
Cause Remedy
■ Bin thermostat set incorrectly ■ Set bin thermostat at 10:00 position
■ Wiring plug off of bypass valve coil ■ Re-install plug
■ Defective bypass valve ■ Replace bypass valve
■ Deposit build-up on evaporator grid ■ Run unit through the clean cycle. Use
only U-Line Ice Machine Cleaner
e
e: If scale or mineral deposits accumulate on grid, cubes will not fall freely.
7. Ice Is Slow To Release From Evaporator
Cause Remedy
■ Deposit build-up on evaporator grid ■ Run unit through the clean cycle. Use
only U-Line Ice Machine Cleaner.
■ Unit not level ■ Level unit for even water flow
f
f: Uneven water flow will reduce ice rate and cause water to spill in ice bin.
8. Will Not Fill With Water
Cause Remedy
■ No stand pipe in water trough ■ Install stand pipe
■ Water valve is defective ■ Replace valve
■ Water solenoid unplugged ■ Repair wiring defect
or wire to solenoid has internal break
9. Continuous Ice Production
Cause Remedy
■ Bin thermostat set too cold ■ Set bin thermostat to the 10:00 position
■ Bin thermostat sensing bulb out ■ Insert bulb inside aluminum sensor tube
of alignment
■ Bin thermostat stuck in closed position ■ Replace bin thermostat
■ Ice slab too thick ■ Set ice thickness adjustment dial to a
lower setting
g
g: If cubes release from grid and are too thick, cubes might not make contact with
sensor tube (inside of bin) therefore bin thermostat would never be satisfied.
