Setting up the TORPEDO PI-101 - Wall of Sound Edition
3 Using the PI-101 - Wall of Sound Edition with a software or hardware
amplifier emulator
You may want to use the PI-101 - Wall of Sound Edition in order to replace the speaker simulation of a plugin or
hardware amplifier emulator. This may be a good idea, keep in mind the two cases you may encounter and
follow our recommendation:
1. If the amplifier emulator embed a separated pre-amplifier and power amplifier simulation: bypass the
speaker simulation AND the power amplifier section of the amp emulator, switch on the power amp on the
PI-101 - Wall of Sound Edition.
2. If it is not possible to bypass the power amp simulation on the Amplifier emulator, switch off the power amp
on the PI-101 - Wall of Sound Edition plugin.
The two cases can be summed up in the following tab:
Amplifier Emulator Torpedo PI-101
Preamp status Power Amp status
Speaker status
Power Amp status

ON OFF OFF ON ON

OFF OFF ON
Obviously, if the speaker simulation on the amplifier emulator can’t be bypassed, we do not recommend the
use of this simulation with the PI-101 - Wall of Sound Edition.
